Both men are in the ring. Reis is a BJJ black belt. Caraway is a striker and got into EliteXC by winning a tryout and now is on the main event. Caraway is an expert in Cowboy Karate, whatever that is!!
Here we go live from Stockton, California.
Reis is going to try to take this fight to the ground immediately, I think. Caraway is coming in with a dislocated knee. Reis shoots with a single leg and immediately takes Caraway down. Reis in Brian’s closed full guard. Reis looking to move into side mount. Reis moves into side mount and tries to move into full guard. Caraway trying to get control as Reis tries to pound down on Caraway. Reis with some more shots in. Caraway moves back onto his feet scrambling from a full mount attempt. Caraway with a nice punch. Reis with another single leg. Reis trying once again to move to side mount. Reis gets full mount. Really nice pass. Reis with a big shot as Caraway trying to buckle but gives Reis the back. Caraway escapes again! The announcers saying that Caraway is coming in with a dislocated kneecap. If so, how can he be cleared to fight?? Reis with another takedown and reigns in some punches as the first round comes to a close.
Round 2 begins as Caraway gets taken down with a single leg again on cue. Reis with a pass but Caraway scrambles out again. Caraway with a big knee as Reis drops. Reis with a single leg out of a bad position and we are back to square one. Reis with a pass to side mount again. Reis back into half guard and now into full guard as one of the announcers calls it advancing positions. Reis on his feet as Caraway tries to get a upkick in. Reis uses the opportunity to pass to side mount. Reis with some nice passes but Caraway has a really good, active guard. Caraway on top now and tries to get some shots in but Reis immediately tries to get Caraway down. Caraway now in half guard! Caraway loses position in a sloppy attempt to pass guard. Reis is now in side mount and tries to advance position. Reis has Caraway’s back and tries to get something going as the round ends.
The final round starts as Caraway gets some punches and kicks in but Reis gets a single leg again and tries to pass to side mount. The entire match is a rinse-repeat of the first few minutes it looks like. Reis with some strikes from side mount. Reis back in full mount. Reis stands up trying to pass but falls back and moves to half guard. Reis with some strikes again. Reis gets full mount and Caraway sweeps and is on top now. Caraway with some small strikes and now gets sweeped. Both men are back on their feet. Caraway with some strikes. He goes for a knee and Reis gets a single leg again! One minute remains and the crowd doesn’t think much of either fighter it looks like. Reis with a punch and Caraway with a sweep. Caraway wants Reis to stand. Caraway with a knee and Reis immediately gets a single leg. The round ends and we know what the result is going to be.

Match #2: Rafael Feijao vs Travis Galbraith
Feijao is a up and coming Light Heavyweight who is riding a big wave of confidence coming in to this fight against former King of the Cage champion Travis Galbraith. Travis is a well known and fight tested submission fighter and is coming in with a big opportunity to get on the main stage if you will.
Travis comes in to the cage first followed by Feijao, who is trained by the Nogueiras and Anderson Silva. Feijao has Silva and Nogueira in his corner. Ranallo should be strangled with a sodden sock.
The first round begins with Feijao takes the centre. Feijao with a nice inside low leg kick. Feijao moves in with a strike but Travis moves Feijao to the cage. Travis with knees to the body. Feijao tries to get off the cage but Travis keeps him on the cage. Both men untangle. Feijao with some knees from the clinch. Travis tries to power Feijao down but is unable to do so. Feijao takes Travis down but Travis moves out and is back on his feet. Travis and Feijao both try to move the other to the cage. Feijao with some nice knees to Travis. Travis gets hit by 4 big knees and Travis is rocked! Feijao with big strikes and another big punch as the referee stops the fight.

The next fight is to crown the first ever EliteXC Heavyweight Champion as Justin Eilers goes up against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva. Silva is a big fast Heavyweight and comes into this fight with huge advantages over Eilers in all divisions.

Eilers looks in shape and has done a lot of work with a boxing coach. Silva comes in looking good and healthy. Silva has a 6 inch reach advantage added to the height and weight advantage that he posseses.
The first round begins with Silva taking centre. Silva with a kick. Eilers circling around. Eilers with a strike as Silva lands a left hook. Eilers reaching on Silva. Silva gets another leg kick followed by a nice hook. Silva with a double leg and immediately gets Eilers down. Silva with some nice strikes on Eilers. Silva with a knee to the body. Herb Dean takes a point away from Silva for a shot to the back of the head. Silva with a big high kick. Silva takes Eilers back to the ground. Eilers escapes and both men are back on their feet. Silva misses with a combination and Silva tries to get Eilers down from the cage. SIlva with knees to the thigh and some nice shots on Eilers. Both men are back to the centre. Both men with some shots in. Silva with some sloppy combinations. SIlva with a nice leg kick. The first round comes to an end. It might be a 9-9 round because of the point deduction.
Round two starts with a big left hook on SIlva by Eilers. Silva gets back with some big strikes. Silva continues to get some big strikes on Eilers. Eilers is in big trouble. Silva with more strikes in as Herb Dean stops the fight. Your new EliteXC Heavyweight Champion is Antonio “Big Foot” Silva!

We move on to CBS now for the main card of EliteXC: Unfinished Business.
The feature bout today is “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler vs Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith in a rematch for the EliteXC middleweight championship.
The first fight of the night is the women’s matchup between Josh Barnett trained Baszler vs Muay Thai fighter and wife of Cyborg Santos, from Chute Box Christiane Cyborg.
Shayna Bazler vs Christiane Cyborg
Cyborg with some big shots on Shayna. Baszler immediately takes Cyborg down. Baszler with a kneebar attempt. Cyborg holding on and trying to escape. Cyborg moves out and now is on top. Cyborg with some shots from top. Cyborg tries to stand and get some big strikes. Baszler with another attempt at a toe hold. Cyborg is now in Baszler’s full guard. Neither woman is able to get too much offence from this position as the first round comes to a close.
Round two starts as Shayna tries to get a body kick. Cyborg with some big strikes from the clinch. Shayna tries to get a takedown but Cyborg is having nothing of it. Cyborg with some big strikes on Baszler. Cyborg with a big knee from the clinch. Cyborg with some more big strikes. She closes the distance and gets some big strikes in on Baszler. Cyborg thinks the fight is over and celebrates but the fight is not over. Baszler get some rest but the returning to the fight Cyborg gets some more strikes in on Baszler. Cyborg with some more huge strikes on Shayna. Cyborg with a huge right and the match is all over! Cyborg wins!

Nick “The Goat” Thompson vs Jake Shields
This match is for the welterweight championship. We have Frank Shamrock teaching us the various terms in MMA and what they mean.
First in is Nick “The Goat” Thompson, who tells us that he is going to give his bar exam two days after this fight. Next up is Jake Shields, who does not want to be a lawyer and has finished his last 4 opponents in the first round.
This fight promises to be a grappling power struggle. Nick Thompson has a 2 inch reach advantage and I have a feeling that he will try and keep this on the feet and try and work out a win.
Shields with a fast single leg takedown and immediately moves to full mount. Nick tries to escape by putting his feet on the cage. Shields moves back into full mount. Shields with a guillotine from the mount. Thompson taps!! Shields is the new Welterweight champion!! This is Shields 10th consecutive win and he ends Thompson’s 11 fight win streak.
Winner: Jake Shields by Submission - Guillotine Choke.

Thomas “Wild Man” Denny vs Nick Diaz
First in is Thomas “Wild Man” Denny, who promises to make Nick Diaz’s friends tell Nick that Denny kicked his a$$. Next up is the hometown boy, Nick Diaz, who is on the path back to the lightweight title and comes in with full support from this Stockton crowd.
The match starts with Denny on the centre. Both men with strikes. Denny coming in with some nice strikes. Denny gets some nice strikes on Diaz. Denny with a nice low kick. Denny with an elbow from the clinch. Denny takes Diaz down. Diaz looks for a kimura but Denny escapes. Diaz looks for an armbar and Denny again escapes. Diaz looks for a single leg but Denny doing well and staying on his feet. Denny with some nice shots in on Diaz. Diaz with a couple of strikes. Both men with strikes now. Diaz with some shots on Denny on the cage. Diaz with a big strike on Diaz. Denny gets a strike in but Diaz with some nice shots on Denny. Denny gets a superman in on Diaz. Both men Denny gets a low kick and slips and falls. Diaz with some more strikes on Denny. Diaz with some more strikes as Denny hangs on and tries to counter. The first round is almost over and both men are still striking.
Denny seems to have taken more punishment thanks to Diaz’s reach.
Round two starts with Diaz taking the centre. Denny with some more punches on Diaz. Diaz lands a few more punches on Denny. Denny falls with a left. Diaz continues to punch. Denny looks out as Diaz continues to punch. The referee stops the fight.

“Ruthless” Robbie Lawler vs Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith
This match is for the middleweight championship and is a rematch from the last EliteXC event where the fight was stopped due to a doctor’s stoppage and was ruled a no contest.
Both men are now in the cage and the fight of the night is about to begin.
Smith rushing in early, Lawler seems more cautious. Missed high kick by Lawler. Smith pushes forward with a kick followed by some back and forth strikes before Lawler begins to stalk Smith. Both fighters trade knees from the clinch. lawler lands a body kick. Smith pushes the pace early, and Lawler backs away cautiously. Missed high kick by Lawler. Smith pushes forward with a kick, and flashes a smile. Now toe-to-toe trading briefly, before Lawler begins to stalk Smith. A clinch, and both fighters trade knees. lawler lands a kick to the body, and Smith answers with a high kick. Lawler backing Smith against the cage with some nice punches. Lawler is now striking more patiently and effeciently in his attack. Lawler throws high kicks. More exchanges as the round closes.
Smith with a nice elbow to Lawler and opens a big cut on Lawler’s forehead. Lawler with some dirty boxing from the clinch. Lawler gets a big overhand on Smith followed by some nice knees. Smith falls, recovers and gets hit by some big shots again by Lawler. Smith falls yet again and Lawler comes down on him with some heavy strikes again and again. Herb Dean stops the fight.
